It is necessary to be careful never to strain your knees when working with any of the variations of the half lotus position. And thus here I offer you two deceptively simple modifications for Half Bound Lotus Western Stretching Posture. The first modifications is simply to bring the foot back beside your straight leg, this is a good version especially if you knee does not come to the ground when you bring your foot back. The second variation makes use of a strap to complete the binding of the lotus. It is important to feel a bit of mobility and ease between each joint that is part of the bind, this includes the half lotus leg and the arm that binds the lotus. Thus if necessary use a strap to gain that little bit of mobility, do this in order to avoid straining your knee.
